What do you do?

At the moment, I am working closely with nine services to run a series of small pilots to explore the impact of digital connectedness on wellbeing and to help shape what digital support looks like at Carr Gomm.

A typical day for me involves:

  • Upskilling support practitioners to be Digital Ambassadors
  • Designing surveys
  • Analysing data

Collaborating with the Business Development team to apply for funding to support our digital inclusion work

What do you like most about your job?

I love seeing and hearing about the impact that being digitally connected can have on people’s lives – particularly on feelings of social isolation and loneliness. I also get a lot of joy from working closely with my team of Digital Ambassadors – support practitioners who have been upskilled to embed digital support in their services. Everyone is so creative, curious, and passionate about supporting people to get online in a way that works for them.

What surprised you about working here?

I joined Carr Gomm during the coronavirus pandemic and have been so surprised by how easy it’s been to form strong connections with lots of different people despite not being able to meet face-to-face! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It’s great to work somewhere where everyone shares the same values and ethos.
