Take on the Carr Gomm Challenge Challenge to help fight isolation and loneliness in Scotland!
Take on the #BigCarrGommChallenge!
As part of our 25th birthday celebration, we hope to raise £25,000 to continue our great work of helping combat isolation and loneliness in Scotland, and we want you to get involved!
From Wednesday the 20th to Sunday the 24th of September, we will be walking from Carr Gomm Govan (Glasgow) to Carr Gomm SPACE (Edinburgh) along the Canals, taking in the beautiful sights of the Forth & Clyde and Union Canal towpaths.
Lace-up your walking shoes, hop on your bike, or get ready to cycle because this event is open to everyone!
Accessibility is at the heart of this challenge. We welcome people of all abilities, and the route is designed to accommodate walkers, cyclists, and riders alike. This is an inclusive event that aims to bring people together, so don’t forget to invite your family, friends, and even your furry pals!
Take part for five days, three days, or even just a morning, and you will receive a FREE Carr Gomm t-shirt as a thank you for your fundraising efforts.

Where Your Money Goes
Every penny raised through the Canal Challenge goes back into community projects in Scotland.
Fundraised money enables us to provide many varied additional opportunities for people and families across Scotland to come together and improve their lives.
Any amount of money fundraised can go a long way to providing new opportunities for people in Scotland. Our community projects give people a chance to meet new people, create new friendships, and develop and increase their sense of community by helping people to increase their confidence and determination to live a more fulfilling life.
Previous fundraised money has gone to projects, such as, Keep Warm Boxes for people in Argyll & Bute, running a Games Group for people in Glasgow and hosting a Cooking Club in Edinburgh.
For more on what we do with fundraised money, visit our Fundraising pages.
