With a starting salary of £25,224 (pro-rata) plus enhanced pay for night shifts, this is a meaningful role where no two days are the same, providing immediate, person-centred support to people in urgent situations, helping them stay safe and independent at home.

Roles on offer

We are looking for three individuals to work 15 hours per week, however candidates looking for more hours are welcome to apply!

About Us

Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity. Our Responder service in Helensburgh is all about being there when it matters most. We respond to Telecare Alarms in cases such as a fall, ensuring people receive the right support at the right time. But our commitment doesn’t end there. We go the extra mile by checking in on people later in the day or during the night. This person-centred approach ensures that people not only receive immediate assistance, but also have peace of mind and comfort in their own homes.

About the Role

As a Support Practitioner (Responder), your role will involve conducting dynamic risk assessments, screening needs through effective communication and working proactively to prevent hospital admissions. While you may be working independently, you won’t be alone; our close-knit team offer support and ensures continuity of care for the people we support.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for caring people who have a genuine passion for making a positive impact in their community, can stay calm under pressure, and communicate clearly and compassionately with others. You do not need professional experience to join us. We provide comprehensive induction training, including the use of ELK Lifting Cushion to all new team members.

A full driving license is essential for this role, with a company car provided while on shift.

Our Impact

We take pride in supporting our community through impactful community projects like the Keep Warm appeal. During the energy crisis, we delivered Keep Warm Kits to help people in Argyll and Bute stay warm.

Thank you so much for the lovely warm box which was delivered to me today. Very useful and very much appreciated a really lovely gesture from Carr Gomm. Thanks again” – Liz from Campbeltown.

  • Anti-social hours enhancement of up to £1,241 per annum, when undertaking waking night shifts (11pm-7am)
