Carr Gomm team members are among the finalists for the Scottish Social Services Awards 2022 and The Herald Digital Transformation Awards.
Scottish Social Services Awards (SSSA)
Kirsteen Watson has been nominated for Social Care Worker of The Year at the SSSA. As a Support Practitioner, Kirsteen brought a kindness and empathy to her role every day and there are numerous examples of how she consistently found new ways to support people to live well and to reach their health and wellbeing goals.
Kirsteen has now transferred her many skills into a new role in Carr Gomm as a Community Link Worker in our Edinburgh locality.
The Falkirk Responder Service has also been shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in Adult Services’ award at the SSSA. The team behind the service is being recognised for going above and beyond to provide excellent service which responds to people’s choices and independence.
The team behind the service includes Chloe Hutton, Debbie Arnott, Romana Lemetti, Tom Brown and Service Manager, Marie Dunleavie.
Mavis Kelly, Operations Managers for Forth Valley services, commented:
“The Falkirk Responder Service never misses an opportunity to show people how much they are valued and that they are worth going above and beyond for. Every day the team shows resilience, commitment and they always stay true to our values and our person centredness.”
Both Kirsteen and the Falkirk Responder Service team will be heading to the awards ceremony on the 15th of September in Glasgow.
The Herald Digital Transformation Awards
Carr Gomm’s Digital Inclusion Project has been shortlisted for the ‘Best use of Technology in the Third Sector Award’ award and the ‘Digital Diversity Award’ at the Herald’s Digital Transformation Awards.
The Digital Inclusion Research Project is a process of action research led by Carr Gomm’s dedicated Digital Inclusion Researcher, Shannon McNee. Shannon has collaborated with people Carr Gomm supports and staff across fifteen Carr Gomm services to develop person-centred approaches in providing digital inclusion support. Each service is supported by a team of Digital Ambassadors; upskilled Support Practitioners who share their digital skills with people they support and their wider teams.
The award ceremony will take place on the 25th of August.
Carr Gomm is proud of the dedication and passion of our staff who continually find compassionate and innovative opportunities to support people across Scotland.
