We need to raise £31,090 by the end of August 2019; join our team and help us smash our target!

Team Carr Gomm is our fundraising campaign to Stomp Out Loneliness across Scotland. We’re challenging people to be active and social, as part of our team, to raise money to tackle social isolation and loneliness.

Social isolation is a state of overwhelming lack of contact between a person and their community.  For Robert, pictured, and up to one third of the population at some point in their lives, this can cause crushing loneliness which becomes debilitating and means an increased risk of heart attack, dementia, depression and early death.

"Social isolation gradually diminished my life: I never left my house and I felt no motivation to do anything."

Britain is the loneliness capital of Europe.  Loneliness can be further complicated by ageing, bereavement, disability, discrimination, domestic violence, physical and mental ill-health, poverty, stigma and unemployment.  It can happen to anyone.  It can happen at any age.  It is an issue for all of us.

Carr Gomm has a proven track record of tackling the causes of social isolation, improving people’s wellbeing and sustainably increasing community resilience. We are privileged to have supported so many people across Scotland, and are thrilled to see the difference our projects and activities have made to people's lives.

Despite the impact of our work, there is still much to do in communities across Scotland and we need your help now.

We must raise a minimum of £31,090 by the end of August 2019 to ensure our projects can keep running for the coming year; and if we exceed our target, we can continue to develop new projects and activities across Scotland.

Donate today or sign up to fundraise and join Team Carr Gomm; together we can tackle social isolation and help to build a more resilient Scotland.
