Relive all the fun and excitement of the Carr Gomm Glasgow Forum

People supported across our Glasgow services came together at The Barn Youth Centre for an afternoon of games and music, and to provide valuable feedback on their support.

Our Forums bring people we support together to socialise and connect, but they also play a crucial role in how we deliver services. Our Forums enable people we support to come together in a fun and relaxed environment to connect with others, while ensuring their support is shaped by their voices, their choices, and their lives.

The Carr Gomm Glasgow Forum featured a carnival theme, with lots of games, including hook-a-duck, cornhole, and even a few races, creating a fun relaxed vibe. Enabling people supported from across the various Carr Gomm Glasgow services to interact and join together, making new friends in the process.

There was a great atmosphere with a few sing-alongs and dances, and lots of food for everyone to enjoy!

At the heart of it, though, was the chance for people to share their feedback about their support. This was achieved through casual conversations, arts-and-crafts opportunities, written surveys, and even on-camera interviews. This feedback will be collected and assessed by each service to understand what is working and what could be improved.

“These are great because they bring people together from different projects that would never normally meet each other. And we’ve all got one thing in common – we need support and that’s a great thing.” – Rab

Forums also give people we support the chance to connect with different parts of the organisation. At our Glasgow Forum, Rebecca from our International Collaborations project was on hand to share information about the work she does with both staff and people we support, Laura, our Involvement Manager, was available to discuss different ways people supported could become more involved with their support through different avenues, such as our Involvement Group, and members of our Business Development Team were there snapping photos and collecting stories and feedback to share across Carr Gomm. The Forum provides a great opportunity for everyone across the organisation to connect in a relaxed and fun environment.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Carr Gomm Glasgow Forum and provided their ideas and insights to help Carr Gomm keep improving and striving to be better!
