Midlothian services host ‘Feel Good Focus Group’ in Loanhead
In June, our Midlothian team hosted a fantastic Feel Good Focus Group in Loanhead to gather feedback from people we support and to explore different ways we can be active in our day-to-day lives.
Everyone was invited to take part in a range of fun activities – from hula hooping to jenga – and we had a delicious, healthy lunch. Graham, the DJ from the Midlothian Music Group, provided the tunes, and there was a signed Hearts football shirt up for grabs in the free raffle.

Ross from Health by Science came to the Focus Group to lead everyone through some warm-up activities and explore how everyone can incorporate movement into their daily lives.
Ross showed the group how you can adapt more complex movements like squats to your ability level, using aids like a chair to build up your strength. By breaking exercises down, Health by Science makes them more accessible, encouraging people to give new movements a go!
‘Move to Improve’ has been up and running for about six months now, and it’s gone really well! We have people across Scotland who have been using it and utilizing it – all we are doing is trying to encourage it and improve the physical activity of people who are being supported.” – Ross Marwick
