Carr Gomm Celebrates Its 25th Birthday!

Supporting people in Scotland since 1998

In 2023, Carr Gomm was proud to celebrate its 25th year of working to stomp out loneliness and isolation in Scotland. Our person-centred approach enables us to support over 3000 people in Scotland and help make a positive impact on people’s lives..

Our highly trained staff began working in East Lothian in 1998 and has expanded to cover over nine regions of Scotland, including Argyll & Bute, Borders, Dundee, Forth Valley and more.

See a map of all Carr Gomm services here.

All our services are based on our values and reflect the choices and aspirations of each individual and community we work with.

In our 25 years of supporting people and communities, we have seen how bringing people together and providing opportunities to make meaningful connections can be transformational.

Community Projects

Carr Gomm is committed to combatting isolation and loneliness through our Community Projects.

Since our formation in 1998, Carr Gomm has worked with communities to develop projects that enhance people’s lives.

Each community project we fund is based on the community’s needs and is accessible and inclusive to all, especially those with poor health, low income, and low self-confidence.

We are proud of what has been accomplished over the past 25 years and are determined to do more in the next 25 years to fight loneliness and isolation in Scotland.

The Big Carr Gomm Challenge!

As part of our 25th birthday, we aimed to raise £25,000 to continue our great work of helping combat isolation and loneliness in Scotland!

The Carr Gomm Community came out in force and hosted a variety of fundraising activities. From Kiltwalks and the Canal Challenge to quizzes and prize draws, people across Scotland used their creativity to raise money for a great cause.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Big Carr Gomm Challenge and helped to raise over £27,000 to stomp out isolation and loneliness!

You can hear more about how the money will be used by checking the Carr Gomm website and social media channels.
