We truly appreciate the incredible work are staff do to support people across Scotland. To recognise their invaluable contributions and commitment, we are delighted to announce that our Support Practitioners will receive a pay increase of at least 2% above the current adult social care wage,

From 1st April 2026, all new Carr Gomm Support Practitioners will receive a minimum of £13.75 per hour. In recognition of experience and qualifications, experienced Support Practitioners will receive a rate of £14.50 per hour. This is almost 8% above the Scottish Government’s adult social care wage.

In a letter to all staff, Andrew Thomson, Carr Gomm’s Chief Executive, stated:

“We will always strive to be better, as this is in our DNA, but we can only be at our best with your continued commitment, determination, and inspiration. When we all strive together, aligned to our strategic plan, then we are at our best.

I want to sincerely recognise your hard work and attention to detail in getting it right for everyone that we support.

Andrew Thomson has been outspoken in urging the Scottish Government to increase the wage for adult social care workers, emphasising that the current rate does not properly recognise the skills, qualifications and commitment of our staff, or the value of people who have social care in their lives.
