Our Oban Housing Support service have been overwhelmed by the kindness their local community has shown over the Festive period. Oban Job Centre, Argyll College, Appin Parish Church, Hope kitchen and the local Tesco generously donated funds, gifts, meal hampers and vouchers in December.
Fumiko Miller (Support Practitioner) and her friends at Oban Gaelic Choir hosted a Christmas concert which raised £375.57. Donations have also been made in memory of people who accessed the service.
These funds help the Housing Support service in their aim to prevent homeless by allowed the service to offer additional support to people experiencing financial hardship, in addition to our usual assistance. Gifts and food parcels were distributed and vouchers for groceries and fuel credit were made available at our Drop-in sessions.
In Argyll & Bute, our Housing Support services aim to prevent homelessness by helping those most at risk. We work in partnership with Argyll and Bute council to provide tenancy advice, teach skills for independent living, and help people to stay in their own homes wherever possible.
We greatly appreciate all the generosity the community of Oban has shown to Carr Gomm over the years. Your support goes a long way towards enabling people to live their life in the way that’s right for them.
Carr Gomm is proud to have served communities in Scotland for the past 25 years. This year we are asking for your help to raise £25,000 to continue our community projects and activities in the #BigCarrGommChallenge. Find out how you can get involved here.
