“Carr Gomm is important to me because they have helped me to get out more, make friends and create goals that are easily achievable.”
Our fundraising hero Michael will be donning his tartan at the upcoming Glasgow Kiltwalk. Michael was inspired to take part in Carr Gomm’s #BigCarrGommChallenge to give back to the community projects which have given him so much. Michael’s story is one of inspiration and bravery, as he overcame mental health struggles and social isolation to become an active member of his community.
Throughout his life, Michael faced many challenges that left him feeling lonely and isolated. Through Carr Gomm’s support and community development projects such as the Glasgow South Games Group, Michael has been able to make new connections and better manage his mental health.
Hear from Michael in his own words why stomping out loneliness and isolation is close to his heart.
Michael hopes to raise £250, which will help fund Carr Gomm community projects so that people like him can meet new people while being in a safe and supportive environment.
The Kiltwalk will take place on Sunday, April 30th, and supporters can donate to Michael’s fundraising efforts through his JustGiving page. By supporting Michael, you are not only helping Carr Gomm to continue their important work, but you are also helping to inspire others to overcome their own challenges and make a positive impact in their communities.
