Celebrating Denise Murdoch: MBE Honouree for Outstanding Service to Older People in Argyll & Bute.
We are thrilled to announce that Denise Murdoch, Senior Operations Manager for Carr Gomm’s Argyll & Bute and Highland services, has been honoured with an MBE in recognition of her exceptional contributions to older people in Argyll & Bute, as revealed in the King’s New Year Honours List.
With over 23 years of dedicated service, Denise played a pivotal role in establishing Carr Gomm’s first services in the region in 2010. She oversees 24/7 Responder Services, Housing Support Service, Mobile Homecare Services, Appropriate Adult, and Care at Home Services. As well as leading the annual Keep Warm Campaign.

“I cannot think of another person who deserves this recognition more, Denise has changed thousands of people’s lives, both people supported and indeed the many staff she has mentored and developed into amazing practitioners.”
In response to her MBE, Denise humbly shared, “Although I have received the MBE, it is for all the staff in Carr Gomm across Argyll & Bute who have worked tirelessly for the people of Argyll & Bute.”
As we celebrate this well-deserved recognition, we also take a moment to express our gratitude to Denise for her 23 years of hard work, dedication and transformative impact. Her retirement this spring marks the end of an era, and we extend our best wishes for a joyful and fulfilling retirement.
