Carr Gomm Shop receives donation from local singer

A woman (Ania) with glasses wearing a red shirt smiles in front of lots of hand knitted baby cardigans. She is in the Carr Gomm shop in Inverness. Carr Gomm Shop.

Carr Gomm is so thankful to singer Jason McClurg, who raised £350 for the Carr Gomm Shop!

Jason raised the funds by hosting a concert earlier this month as a way to give back. Carr Gomm helped his family when Jason’s father had vascular dementia.

“I wanted to fundraise for this charity because they were the first charity that gave my mum and I the chance to spend some time together when my Dad had vascular dementia,” said Mr McClurg.

All at Carr Gomm are incredibly grateful for the generous donation, none more so than Ania, the shop’s manager.

Ania stated:  “I am very grateful for this kind gesture, as are the volunteers at the Carr Gomm Shop. This will help to add something special for the people we support. A big thank you again to Jason. We wish him all the best for the future with his singing.”

The Carr Gomm Shop is located in the Queensgate Arcade on Academy Street in Inverness and has recently reopened after being closed for almost 6 months due to building issues. The shop helps to fundraise for Carr Gomm community projects in Inverness and throughout Scotland and enables us to fight isolation and loneliness.

The Carr Gomm shop sells a variety of gorgeous pre-loved items, such as boutique clothing, popular novels and even brand-new hand-knitted baby clothes, just to name a few!

If you’re in the mood for a declutter, we would gratefully accept donations of items directly to the shop.
