Carr Gomm’s Argyll & Bute and Forth Valley services were rated ‘Very Good’ by the Care Inspectorate.
Argyll & Bute
Our Argyll & Bute Responder Service is a 24/7 service which responds to telecare alarms and provides planned support. It supports people to live in their own home, where they want to be, and prevents people from being unnecessarily admitted to hospital.
Our Responders were commended for ‘responding promptly and confidently to community alarm calls’ and for providing ‘calm, reassuring support, which reduced stress for people during emergencies.’
One relative called staff “angels” and family members described staff as “knowledgeable and kind”.
People described Care at Home Support Practitioners as ‘wonderful’ and ‘very kind and respectful’. The Care Inspectorate noted that the introduction of digital support plans, where a person explains how they wish to be supported in a video, has led to ‘more consistent, personalised care and helped new staff quickly understand what mattered most to the individual, which strengthened continuity and protected people’s routines’.
Forth Valley
Our Forth Valley services operate across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire. We support people in their own homes, with support ranging from a few hours per week to 24-hour support.
Our Forth Valley staff were commended being ‘committed’ and for providing support which is ‘strengths based and person centred’, including supporting people to ‘take part in a wide range of activities promoting enjoyment and fun.’
One relative told the Care Inspectorate: “The people who support my brother are amazing – always kind, patient and respectful and go the extra mile to ensure that he has a happy and fulfilling life. I am so grateful for everything they do”. Someone who receives support from Carr Gomm said, “I am very well supported and treated with dignity and respect. The team always find ways to make me happy, always putting lots of effort into my support. I really loved my holiday this year. It was so nice to get away. Recently I have been unwell and the team have worked really hard adjusting my support for me.”
