Training and qualifications

Developing people’s skills and knowledge to help them do their jobs safely and effectively is hugely important to us.

We invest in every member of staff, providing training so that people feel confident, competent, and well supported in their role.

If you decide to join the Carr Gomm team, you can expect:

  • Access to a free SVQ qualification relevant to your support practitioner role. This qualification will help you meet the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration.
  • To be paid for every hour spent training, including induction.
  • An environment that champions continuous professional development. We’re here to support you in your career journey, whatever that may look like.
  • Opportunities to increase your knowledge in a whole range of specialist areas, including:
    • Adult abuse
    • Addiction
    • Autism
    • Applied suicide intervention skills (ASIST)
    • Person-centred approaches
    • Positive behavior support (PBS)
    • Scottish mental health first aid (SMHFA)

We believe social care is a career and not just a job. The skills and knowledge you’ll learn will stay with you throughout life.
