Work with us Training & qualifications Training and qualifications At Carr Gomm Learning & Development is essential to ensuring our staff have the necessary skills and knowledge needed to do their jobs safely and effectively. We invest in every member of staff, providing training so that they feel confident, competent and well supported in their role. This includes holding regular team meetings and Joint Reviews, an Annual Appraisal, Mentoring Groups for Service managers as well as our own Training Programmes. Each member of staff is given their own Learning & Development Portfolio so they can identify and record their continuous professional development. We also have our own Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Approved Centre which is reviewed each year by an SQA External Verifier to ensure that the required standards of quality are maintained and that our SVQ & Training Managers work consistently. All Support Practitioners are supported in attaining the SVQ qualification that is relevant to their role and to meet the requirements of Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Registration; and we cover the cost of this training. Managers are qualified to SVQ Level 4, as well as the appropriate management qualification such as the Care Services Leadership and Management Certificate. In addition, through working with a variety of Information, Training & Consultancy services staff have the opportunity to be trained in a range of specialist topics, such as: Autism Positive Behaviour Support(PBS) in line with the UK PBS Framework Person Centred Approaches Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training (ASSIST) Wellbeing and Recovery Scottish Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) Self-Harm Adult Abuse Addictions With all the necessary training and qualifications provided for you, by us, starting a social care journey with Carr Gomm could not be easier.
