Current Vacancies: We are currently recruiting for our service in Lochaber

We are looking for Support Practitioners to join our new service in Lochaber, which will deliver 24/7 care to a young man who has Cerebral Palsy (CP).

Meet the person we support

The young man, who we support, currently lives with his parents. He will soon be moving into his own accommodation and beginning a new chapter in what is already an active and interesting life. He is a very sociable, energetic young man who enjoys music and cooking, and particularly loves to participate in horse and carriage riding and sit skiing!

Our goal is to provide a person-centred support that will enable him to live the life he chooses, to live safely, and to do the things he wants to do. This includes day-to-day living, planning for the future and realising his dreams.

If you’re good at...

Seeing people as unique individuals with their own skills, opinions and dreams for the future; developing professional relationships with a diverse set of people; encouraging people to overcome obstacles and ensuring their voices are heard; if you are an excellent team player, but also value being trusted to work alone then we have opportunities for you to join our team in Lochaber.

We can offer you...

The opportunity to work in one of Scotland’s leading social care and support charities. We know our work is challenging and rewarding, and we require people with a flexible and inspirational approach, able to find innovative solutions with people, not for them.

We recognise success in seeing people avoiding unnecessary admissions to hospital, being supported within their own communities, and living well in their own homes.

We’ll trust you to become an amazing member of our team, to actively listen to people, to develop personalised support plans for people with often quite complex challenges to overcome. We’ll support you by providing a comprehensive induction, regular supervision and team meetings to ensure you maximise your potential.

We’ll support your Career Development by helping you register as a professional social care practitioner with the SSSC. We’ll support you in completing your vocational SVQ training and we’ll ensure you benefit from continual professional development.

You will be rewarded for your commitment, our benefits include salary enhancements based on qualifications and length of service.

We are interested in what you are like as a person, and what values you can bring. If they match ours, we are convinced that our training and ongoing support will make you into an excellent Support Practitioner and we would love to hear from you!
