Everyone is different; we all need support with different things at different points in our lives. Our Support Practitioners use their excellent interpersonal skills to provide practical supports and encouragement across all aspects of people’s everyday lives. This can  include support with relationships, mobility, medications, emotions, personal care, money and budgets, meals, health and wellbeing, communication, participation in sports and leisure activities, planning for the future, and potentially any other aspect of life.

Practitioners support children, young people, adults and older adults to live the life they choose.

Because people are unique and lives are dynamic, each day in the career of a Support Practitioner brings different opportunities to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

We support new colleagues to register as professional social care practitioners with the Scottish Social Services Council and to complete their vocational SVQ training. We passionately believe in supporting continual professional development, so we offer ongoing training and development opportunities and support you to reach your full potential. Find out more about the benefits of working with Carr Gomm.

This is more than a job; this is a career.

Practitioners throughout Carr Gomm have enjoyed the opportunity to work with a range of different people. Some have chosen to develop their career and become managers, whilst others have used their experience in social care to benefit their communities in related vocations. You can read some of their career stories here.

Choosing a career in social care with Carr Gomm is inspiring, exciting, diverse and full of opportunity. But don't just take our word for it; hear why our staff feel social care is such a worthwhile career:
