About Carr Gomm:

Carr Gomm is a leading Scottish social care and community development charity (SC033491). We currently support about 2,000 people every day across Scotland to live their lives safely and well according to their choices, whilst making plans to achieve their hopes and dreams for tomorrow.

Our support is person-centred and strongly reflects our values of choice, control, respect, interdependence, and openness and honesty, ensuring that people can lead full and positive lives as active citizens.

A core part of our work is to fundraise in order to fill the gaps in society; to provide support where no one else is. Specifically, this work focuses on tackling the crippling issues of loneliness and isolation by bringing people together through a wide variety of community projects and activities. Last year, we fundraised over £800,000 to invest in this work, and are now looking to expand further and make an even bigger difference across Scotland.

About the role:

As our senior projects officer (fundraising), you will collaborate on a diverse range of creative and innovative projects. As part of the business development team, your involvement will range from fundraising, marketing and event planning, to research, relationship cultivation and inspiring others to become champions for the organisation.

With a substantial focus on projects seeking to raise charitable funds, you will assume responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of funding plans. You will ensure that target amounts of money are raised to fund our innovative activities and community projects which tackle isolation and loneliness. Further details on the role are included in the role profile (below).

What makes a great senior projects officer (fundraising)?

Successful senior projects officers (fundraising) come from different backgrounds and have a range of work and life experiences. All are pro-active learners with a flair for engaging with and relating to people, and share our values; respect, interdependence, choice, control, openness and honesty. In our eyes, the best projects officers are creative, tech-savvy, patient, positive, self-motivated, and incredibly strong team players who are wonderful ambassadors, analytical thinkers, excellent storytellers, and passionate world changers.
