I joined the board of Carr Gomm in November 2017.

I have worked in the technology sector for more than 30 years. Starting as a system analyst and developer, I graduated into international business development and relationship management while working for Adobe Systems in its earliest years.

Other significant roles have been as European head of a trade organisation representing and promoting the global software industry, which included directing multi-national campaigns to promote and influence user attitudes to innovation, advocating policy initiatives at both national and EU-level as well as the corporate governance of the organisation in the region.

I returned to Edinburgh in 2009 as a business growth advisor working with mainly start-up companies developing new digital, software and embedded technology solution in Scotland.

The main responsibilities of my role as board member is to ensure that Carr Gomm complies with its governance responsibilities, maintains financial control throughout the implementation of its strategic objectives and to support its operational management and promote the organisation.

I believe that Carr Gomm makes a real difference to peoples’ lives. I am inspired by the dedication and care of the Carr Gomm team and their continuous drive towards improving services, including developing and adopting new technology.

A particular highlight of my time with the organisation was supporting Carr Gomm’s implementation of the Scottish Living Wage and its endeavours to improve the environment for its employees and the people they care for.

Away from work commitments, I love cooking and dancing and am learning to like going to the gym. I’m interested in the creative arts and dabble with calligraphy, cyanotype and more recently interior design.
