I joined Carr Gomm’s board in November 2018 with a view to supporting the board and senior executives in the running, and corporate governance, of Carr Gomm.

Being a part of the board has been great and has really allowed me to get an insight into the running of a charity. It’s also re-emphasised to me what a great organisation Carr Gomm is.

I studied Law at the University of Aberdeen and spent 10 years living and working in the city. I then moved to Edinburgh, where I have lived and worked ever since.

Throughout my career, I have practised as a private client lawyer; buying and selling houses, making wills and attending to estate administration. For the past 13 years, I have been a partner at my current firm.

My hobbies include attending a spin class twice a week, singing in a choir and I’m also learning to play the piano. I love crime novels and police dramas. My favourite cuisines are Italian and Indian.

In terms of people who inspire me, I’d have to say anyone who helps the dispossessed and socially excluded in society.
