Our support

Everyone is unique and we all need support with different things at different times in our lives. Carr Gomm helps with any area of someone’s life: from small things to being fully involved in all aspects of someone’s life.  We always ensure we can support each person safely.

Our philosophy is based on taking a person-centred approach. This means that we support everyone differently, according to their individual requirements, desired personal outcomes, and their dreams and aspirations for the future.  We tailor our support to each individual and we care about always providing the right support, at the right time, in the right way.

We use our knowledge, skills, training and value based approach to identify how we can best add to each person’s strengths and abilities, enabling them to live successfully and well within their own home and community.

Our role is not to do things for people but to work with them. On any given day we may be supporting an older woman with dementia to live independently in her home and continue socialising with her friends; or helping a young man with autism move into his first home away from his family; or supporting a father of young children with his benefits claims and understanding his responsibilities as a tenant to reduce his risk of eviction.

Every day we are supporting people to live their lives safely and well according to their choices, whilst making plans to achieve their hopes and dreams for tomorrow.

Want to be in with a chance of winning £25,000 whilst simultaneously supporting Carr Gomm? Then look no further.

For just £1 a week you can be entered into the Carr Gomm lottery, with the chance of winning £25,000 every Friday*. Every entry into our lottery supports people across Scotland who are experiencing the crushing reality of loneliness and isolation.

How do I play?

Simply sign up to our lottery online or download and return the postal form.

Every entry to the lottery costs just £1, and for every £1 you play, you'll be given a unique 6-digit lottery number: so the more entries you have, the greater your chances of winning.

Unity, the award-winning charity lottery partners, administer the weekly lottery on our behalf. They guarantee that at least 50% of each of your £1 entries comes directly to us; and every penny we receive goes directly towards funding our community projects and activities.

What could I win?

Every Friday a random winning number is drawn, and there are a range of possible prizes:

  • 3 digits in the correct place wins five prize entries into the next draw
  • 4 digits in the correct place wins £25
  • 5 digits in the correct place wins £1,000
  • 6 digits in the correct place wins £25,000

Who else can get involved?

Our lottery is open to anyone and everyone; you don't have to work for Carr Gomm to play. This means you can help us raise even more money to stomp out loneliness across Scotland by encouraging family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to play too.

To put it into context, if 5 of your contacts signed up, we could buy much needed seeds for our Community Growing projects. Or if 10 of your contacts signed up, we could buy wood for our Mens' Shed. Every pound adds up to make a significant difference to the lives of people in local communities.

Please remember...

Since this is a lottery, you must be over 16 years old to enter, and you must be resident in Great Britain.**

Thanks for playing...and don't forget to check the results!
