Our Forth Valley service continues to surprise the organisation with new innovative solutions and ideas of staying socially connected to reduce loneliness amongst people supported.

Andrea McQueen, the service manager, decided to host a quiz night for the service with help from her husband.

Andrea’s husband is an entertainer. During lockdown he created an app known as Speed Quizzing Live which allowed his family and friends to be involved in regular pub quizzes to stay entertained during lockdown.

Andrea felt it would be a useful resource for the service and an opportunity for everyone to get together even if they were living remotely. Her husband hosted the quiz with many people supported, their family members and staff joining in to compete.

Andrea said: “Everyone really enjoyed the quiz.  It is important that people supported have access to activities such as these especially if they are living remotely.

“Robbie, who is supported by our Forth Valley team came second and was over the moon to receive a certificate for his achievement.”

Gillian Weir, service manager said: “Robbie has an amazing knowledge of music and enjoyed seeing everyone on his tablet.

“I was delighted that Robbie and Leigh came second, and when I went into the service on the Monday morning Robbie couldn't wait to tell me that he had beaten Mavis and her husband at the quiz.

“It was great to hear everyone had a lovely time.”
