Our Muirhouse Service is always busy coming up with innovative ideas.

Arts and crafts are a major focus at the moment and this led to the staff and people supported spending a day creating sensory bottles filled with colourful glitters. Everyone involved had lots of fun, and the Service Manager, Andrew, had this to say:

“Some of the people supported seemed fascinated by them when they were handed out.

“Staff are now looking at ways to expand this idea using arts and crafts for other sensory related activities.

“I'm really proud of how the staff team are adapting and looking at ways to develop the way we are providing support.”

Making these bottles can be a bit messy but that’s where the fun comes from. If you are looking for something to do just now then why not try and make your own. All you need is;

  • A plastic bottle
  • Water
  • Glycerin or baby oil
  • Glitter

Simply add the water, oil and glitter into the bottle and give it a shake!
