In 2020, we had grand fundraising plans. However, the worldwide pandemic meant that the vitally important fundraising we usually do to tackle the crippling issues of loneliness and isolations, had to take a back seat as we adapted and helped people through a year like no other.

Still, we received donations from far and wide. Our fabulous supporters went above and beyond, allowing us to continue our work, albeit in a socially distanced way.

Fundraising to secure money for projects is only one part of the picture at Carr Gomm, but it’s an important one. Much of the support we give to people in communities across the length and breadth of Scotland simply wouldn’t be possible without money raised through fundraising.

Read our 2020 Impact Report to learn more about some of the people supported by our community projects, including our Food & Blether Group and community garden initiatives; most of which have benefited from fundraising over the years.

2021-2022 will see a renewed focus on fundraising across the organisation. We can’t wait until we can start skydiving again. Well, maybe not! Walking, bake sales, climbing, ceilidh dancing, abseiling and loads more are perfectly acceptable alternatives to throwing yourself out of a plane. But who know! Are you brave enough?
