Love hiking? Want to go on an adventure in 2020 whilst raising money to tackle loneliness and isolation?

Then join Team Carr Gomm with this challenge, which will see you take on 5 of the toughest peaks in the Lake District, including the Scafell pike (the highest peak in England).

There are many reasons to sit comfortably at home – it is warm, dry and safe. But that is not where memories come from. Taking on a new challenge with my Uncle is one of my best memories and it will never be forgotten. The best memories come from the best experiences.

What is this in aid of?

Team Carr Gomm is seeking to raise £60,000 via a team of at least 100 people, all doing something extraordinary, taking on a challenge and breaking down barriers. It's ultimate goal is to build connections; by encouraging people to take part in the campaign itself, and by raising money to fund activities and projects across Scotland which are bringing people together to tackle loneliness and isolation.

About the challenge

Brought to you by Charity Challenge and led by fully qualified mountain leaders, this adventure runs over just one day. But with five peaks to tackle, it’s certainly no walk in the park: and it's a fantastic way to build relationships whilst getting active and being sponsored to take on the challenge.

Prepare for an exhausting but energising journey through the rugged and dramatic landscape of the Lake District, as you venture across 14 miles (22km) and tackle five of England’s most demanding peaks, including its highest – Scafell Pike. The group will climb to over 3,000 feet (900m), crossing crags and moorland past the Langdale Pikes towards Scafell.

We would suggest a fundraising target of £500 but every little helps! And we will be here to support you every step of the way with your fundraising efforts.
