Do you want to do something truly extraordinary? Do you want to take on the challenge of a lifetime whilst raising money to tackle loneliness in Scotland?

Then join Team Carr Gomm with this epic adventure and cycle all the way from Edinburgh to John o' Groats.

There are many reasons to sit comfortably at home – it is warm, dry and safe. But that is not where memories come from. Taking on a new challenge with my Uncle is one of my best memories and it will never be forgotten. The best memories come from the best experiences.”

[Andrew, Team Carr Gomm challenge fundraiser]

What is this in aid of?

Team Carr Gomm is seeking to raise £60,000 via a team of at least 100 people, all doing something extraordinary, taking on a challenge and breaking down barriers. Its ultimate goal is to build connections; by encouraging people to take part in the campaign itself, and by raising money to fund activities and projects across Scotland which are bringing people together to tackle loneliness and isolation.

We're delighted to be organising this event to bring people together to get active and social: and if you take on the challenge, be sure to ask those you know to sponsor you to complete it.

About the challenge

The cycle from Edinburgh to John o'Groats will last 4 days and will cover an average of eighty miles a day with overnight stays at 4 different locations. These will be;

  1. Pitlochry
  2. Carrbridge/ Boat of Garten
  3. Dornoch
  4. John o'Groats

There is no sign up fee to join this event however participants will need to cover the cost of there overnight stays, food/drink, individual insurance and finally the transport back from John o'Groats to Edinburgh.

Planning for this event is ongoing, so you can expect to see some updates throughout the year. For now, keep your diaries clear in September 2020 for what promises to be an unforgettable adventure!
