Ceilidh's are a beloved Scottish tradition, and with Carr Gomm being a Scottish charity, what better way to bring the two together than a good old fundraising ceilidh?

Our fundraisers told us that they would love to get involved in a fundraising ceilidh...so, we've developed our 'Ceilidh in a Box' resource to guide you through the planning process and give you everything you need to organise a ceilidh from start to finish.

We felt that it would be nice for us to give something back, as Club Fun (our social group) has benefitted so much from previous Carr Gomm fundraising campaigns. As a group, the club have discussed the effects of feeling lonely and isolated at times in our lives - a lot of the people we support have experienced this and wanted to do what they can to support others through it." [Angela, Team Carr Gomm fundraising event planner]

What is this in aid of?

Team Carr Gomm is seeking to raise £60,000 via a team of at least 100 people, all doing something extraordinary, taking on a challenge and breaking down barriers. Its ultimate goal is to build connections; by encouraging people to take part in the campaign itself, and by raising money to fund activities and projects across Scotland which are bringing people together to tackle loneliness and isolation.

About the event

Hosting a ceilidh is a great way to get active and be social, and a fantastic opportunity to invite the whole community along. After all, who doesn’t want to come along, let their hair down, have a laugh and contribute towards a cause that touches the heart? Plus, it gets everyone up on their feet regardless of how little rhythm they may have.

Since Team Carr Gomm is all about building new, or strengthening existing relationships, a ceilidh could not be a better fit with our vision.

Are you interested in putting together a ceilidh, or know of someone else that would be?
