How good we are

Carr Gomm AGM 2010Carr Gomm is one of the best providers of social care in Scotland and as such we set exceedingly high standards of service delivery.  The quality of our service relies on listening to the people we support, their circles of support and our workers, and acting on their comments; many systems exist to capture feedback and create action plans to improve our services.

Being one of the best social care providers also requires external verification and validation:

  • Care Inspectorate / National Care Standards – Every service completes an annual self assessment using The Care Inspectorate criteria linking to the National Care Standards.
  • Scottish Qualifications Authority – we are an approved centre for delivering SVQ Level 3 & 4
  • Investors in People – we were first accredited to Investors in People in 2007 and were successfully reaccredited in 2010.
  • Carr Gomm was voted the 15th ‘Best Workplace in Scotland’ at the Best Workplaces Award Ceremony in Glasgow in 2011.
  • Care Accolade 2012 Awards Winner - "One to Watch" category.
  • Carr Gomm was voted the 7th 'Best Workplace in Scotland' a the Best Workplaces Award Ceremony 2012.

Carr Gomm holds the Investor in People Award recognising our continued investment in the learning and development of our staff.  Many managers have been successful in attaining promoted posts within Carr Gomm; in fact two thirds of our Service Managers started with Carr Gomm as either a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker.

As an accredited SQA Assessment Centre, we are now prepared to meet the challenge of all support staff being able to register as social care and support professionals.
