Community matters; it helps us build relationships and gives us a sense of belonging. Poor health, lack of self-confidence or unease with meeting new people are just some of the barriers that can make accessing the community and community projects extremely difficult for people.
Carr Gomm's Community Development team works to address these barriers. We have delivered projects across Scotland, working closely with individuals to help them to become part of their communities.
We work hard to encourage and promote inclusion by establishing different projects such as gardening or cooking lessons, by working with individuals to help them to navigate and access different activities available within their community and through shared partnership schemes such as community growing.
All of these actvities help to strengthen communities and give people confidence and new skills which enable them to be who they want to be.
